Avoid receiving phone and SMS spam—how can you prevent it? The first step is to understand why they are calling you. Search online to see whether your address and any of your phone numbers (mobile, landline, business, personal) appear in online directories (Abctelefonos, Infobel, Guiafono, Páginasblancas, Eupse…)

Request removal from web directories. Ask to have your contact details deleted from all these sites  web.

Remove the information from search engines so that your contact details no longer appear in Google, Bing, Yahoo, or Yandex results.

Stop receiving advertising calls. Remove your details from the  telephone companies’ databases so you no longer receive advertising or sales calls to your phone (Telefónica, Movistar, Jazztel, Orange, Symio, Vodafone, Yoigo, Amena, Ono…)

Request removal from the phone book. Ask to be removed from the phone book  official (both the paper version and the digital directory) and demand that they do not use your data for commercial or advertising purposes.

If, after these steps, you file a complaint and, once the legal time limits have passed, any of these companies calls your numbers again or your data is published online again, report them to the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
