WHAT IS DIGITAL IDENTITY

Dictionaries define it as the set of information published on the internet about me that makes up the image others have of me: personal data, images, news, comments, tastes, friendships, hobbies, etc.

You can read more about digital identity in the book DIGITAL IDENTITY: What it is, methods of analysis, investigation, and assessment of image loss on the web: Digital identity, social media identity

The loss of image, reputation, and digital identity on the internet is a discipline addressed through judicial and private forensic expertise. The study of this subject has defined digital identity as the identity assumed by a user or multiple users on the network; this is composed of 3 identity layers (social media identity, technical identity, and finally the analog identity or “multi-user” analog identities behind the previous ones).
This book analyzes cases of identity loss due to impersonation, usurpation, or identity theft on social networks, or through illicit access to a user’s network or machines, resulting in serious harm to the user, either through criminal charges or the loss of credibility and/or notoriety on the web.
