Hoteles Catalonia Park Hotel Putxet treats its customers poorly

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at, and I have plenty to compare it to!!! They threw away the two boxes of medication that I have to take daily!

By chance, on Saturday afternoon, I went to take a nap and when I went to the bathroom, I saw that my medication was gone; I searched my room from top to bottom and found nothing.

I went down to reception; there were literally 100 Americans at the door waiting for their check-in, photo attached.

I had arranged to meet several people in the afternoon; they had come down from Segur de Calafell to see us and they were waiting for me for an hour in the rain because I had to go to the other side of Barcelona to a pharmacy I had visited once before and which, miraculously, gave me the pills. All this while rushing to get there before they closed in a taxi!!! 10 euros, and I had to withdraw money because I didn’t expect to spend over 74 euros on pills or on a round-trip taxi! That’s another 20 euros!!!

The next day at check-out, I asked for the hotel manager and he said to me:
—So, what happened with the pills? We’re already off to a bad start… That I have to be the one to tell him this when they knew about it since yesterday… It is simply intolerable! And what if the pharmacy hadn’t given me the pills? The situation they’ve put me in is already brutal.

He says to me, “Well, what do you want us to do?” Honestly, I’m stunned; if I said that to a client of my company, I can tell you exactly what they would say to me.
In the end, he says, “We’ll pay for the pills and then it’s as if nothing happened!” Excuse me!!!!????
I thought he was joking, but I had to tell him that I also took two taxis, lost time, and worst of all, I had a scare that ruined my entire weekend.
Because they gave me a deathly fright; luckily they gave them to me without a prescription because I had been there before and they saw how distressed I was, but otherwise, I don’t even want to imagine it!

I lost hours of my free time, they couldn’t tell me what had happened, and when finally the guy says, “Oh, well, we’ll pay for the pills” (me with receipt in hand) “and 10 euros for the taxi, and that’s it settled, right?”

And then he says: “Because I’m not going to give you 50 euros so you’re not satisfied, nor 200 so you go out the door jumping for joy!!!” Literally!!! And I think, oh really? Shouldn’t a customer leave through the door jumping for joy and wanting to return? No?! Well, what a huge mistake on your part, sir; if as a manager you don’t aim for that, I’m not surprised you tolerate behaviors like throwing away pills because they think I’ve already checked out? Is this a joke? My pajamas were on the bed, my clothes were hanging up, my toiletry bag, my PC!! A diary! Damn it, all of that isn’t trash!

Since it was obvious that you couldn’t talk to this guy, I decided to take that money and report it through another channel, like now and via Twitter to HCatalonia, in addition to consumer protection, who already have my complaint today.

The shocking part of the matter is that Hoteles Catalonia on Twitter replied to me like this: @selvaorejon thank you for providing us with this information.

I imagine they are doing something and will reply to me shortly because otherwise… well, we already know I’m not going to sit idly by.

Furthermore, neither the Wi-Fi nor the 3G works, there is no coverage, and to top it off, they wake me up at 10 in the morning to clean the room!

And the final straw… While checking out and complaining, the hotel manager comes over, doesn’t apologize sincerely, and tells me he’s not going to give me 50 euros or 200 so I leave jumping for joy. Could he be any more of an idiot? Oh, really??? And what does he want? For customers to leave indifferent? In the end, they paid for the pills, the taxi—meaning what I had already spent—and a measly 20 euros. They won’t see me again for anything. But they’re getting the official complaint.

How could such an oversight have happened!? If you can even call it an oversight????

And the poor management of the problem afterward? At least they could have set things right there, but no, they go and mess it up even more!
And the poor taste of laughing at the situation?
And giving me only 20 euros?

Conclusion: at Hoteles Catalonia, Park Hotel Putxet, they do not treat their customers well. From the chain #hotelescatalonia @HCatalonia
