Cybercrime, not everything goes, the penal code is amended for computer crimes.

The new Cybercrime Law bears little relation to the bill approved by the Justice and Human Rights Commission, chaired by parliamentarian Alberto Beingolea, in July 2012.

After a year of discussion, on September 12, 2013, the law was approved by Congress—with a substitute text ultimately drafted and enacted by the Government.

The new law seeks to prevent and punish unlawful conduct affecting computer systems and data. Although legal and information technology specialists maintain that effective measures were necessary against cybercrime—which already lurks behind our computers—many consider this legislation imprecise, as it encompasses too many types of computer crimes.
