Have you or someone you know ever experienced an incident on social media or the internet and didn’t know why it happened or how to handle it?
We are not only talking about a personal level, but also a professional one. Community managers who are overwhelmed by having to manage numerous complaints or haters, content curators who must spend hours viewing sensitive content, individuals whose profession involves working in digital customer service channels… etc.
When we talk about cybersecurity, it is inevitable for many people to think only of technology: antivirus programs, backups, passwords, cloud security… Suffering a cyberattack does not only have economic consequences, business continuity issues, or data loss.
When a cyberattack occurs, there are emotional consequences that seem to go unnoticed. This is especially true when the target is not a company, but an individual.
A person who has seen their identity stolen for illegitimate purposes or who is a victim of a cyber-scam is suffering an attack on their dignity.
Training on digital protection and emotional management, essential in the digital age
In order to raise awareness among users and provide them with the necessary resources to learn how to be better protected online and how to emotionally manage an online incident, onBRANDING and the CARL ROGERS Institute will provide training on digital protection and emotional management on February 6.
The main objectives of the training workshop are:
- Learning to discover why much of our data is exposed
- Learning to protect ourselves to maintain a healthy digital identity
- Learning to emotionally manage the impact that a digital incident can have on our emotional stability
- Having the resources to face them should they happen to you or someone close to you.

The training is divided into two parts:
Learn to correctly manage your digital identity
We will discuss the importance of correctly managing digital identity (both personally and professionally). You will learn about the main cyber threats you may be exposed to AND you will learn to adopt a series of preventive measures aimed at protecting your digital identity and reducing the risk of becoming a victim of cybercrime. We will also analyze the consequences that such incidents can cause and look at real cases to reflect on the actual impact on the lives of victims.
Learn to protect yourself emotionally against digital threats
We will talk about emotional protection. Do we know how to act if we are the victim of a cyber-scam or a situation of online harassment?
We will analyze how humans and our brains function to better understand the reasons behind certain behaviors. We will also talk about specific day-to-day situations where the behaviors of those around us and/or other people impact us. We will work on recognizing these impacts, protecting ourselves, and implementing different strategies from those we currently use.
Additionally, you will see examples of real cases where a lack of digital protection has led to a situation of emotional helplessness, how it has affected the victims, and what the consequences were.

The training will be delivered by Selva Orejón, CEO of onBRANDING and digital identity specialist, and by Lorenzo Muriel, coach at the Carl Rogers Institute and author.
