In this video, Selva Orejón, CEO of onBRANDING and digital reputation specialist, explains how awareness is essential for users to be better protected online.
“It is not just the economic consequences, business continuity, or data loss,” warned Selva Orejón. In cybersecurity, there is much more at stake. “There are emotional consequences that seem to go unnoticed. In my office, I work with 19 psychologists who see every single day what it is like to deal with a situation of this nature.”
“Orejón believes in awareness as a fundamental tool for everyone to better protect themselves online. It is necessary to work on this in schools and colleges. But not from a technical point of view. “I wouldn’t explain that you have to activate login with two-factor authentication. I would make it mandatory,” she concludes.”
“The training measures provided in schools and colleges must be realistic. That is, you cannot talk openly to a 9-year-old about what pedophilia is because it is quite traumatic. But you can explain with other types of examples what can happen to them online,” she adds.
