During the pandemic, we have been more connected than ever to the Internet, and without the usual social spaces such as bars and nightclubs, without parties or festivals, social networks have become practically the only way to interact with others and meet people.

Currently, there are thousands of contact applications that have become a multimillion-dollar business; it has never been easier to contact and meet a stranger.

Connecting, flirting, or falling in love through these applications is no longer a novelty, but it has also become fertile ground for all types of criminals. Sexual assaults, scams, creation of fake profiles to steal data, identity theft, sextortion, cyberbullying, and all kinds of abuse… nowadays it is very easy to generate fake photos with artificial intelligence or to have the profile we have on a social network stolen.

This allows any criminal to act with great impunity close to home or from anywhere else on the planet.
