Online banking scams – El Balcó SER Catalunya

It is increasingly common to receive SMS, messages, or emails that appear to be from our bank, but in fact are not. These are spoofing campaigns, in which the identity of banking institutions is impersonated.
How can you detect these types of scams?
How can you protect yourself?
What should you do if you become a victim of these types of scams?

Selva Orejón provides the key points and warns: “There is still a significant lack of user awareness; even today, very few people use protection systems on their devices. It is very important to have a paid antivirus installed, which could protect us from these types of scams.”

In addition, if you become a victim, Selva notes that “…it is very important to keep all evidence, all proof (SMS, conversations with cybercriminals, messages…) and file a report with the police.”
