In this interview, Selva Orejón explains how to act in the event of digital identity theft, but also highlights the lack of awareness that still exists regarding the dangers (and our rights) on social media.
As she rightly explains, the number of cybercrimes continues to grow because “We lack training and an emotional anchor. When it affects you closely or happens to you personally, you do not forget it. All the people I know who have experienced a problem are willing to do whatever is proposed to protect themselves.”
Furthermore, she states that “problems stem not so much from network or device security as from the users themselves. The failure starts with the weak defenses we apply ourselves.” However, she acknowledges that: “A significant part can be easily protected if a series of perimeter measures are implemented, but there are human errors that are infinitely more difficult to resolve. Because even if they have received training or the company has many security measures in place, if you study your target well, you will be able to breach them through their vulnerabilities.”
