This afternoon, thanks to @busaquita, we were reading Inditex messes up online (again) via @elmundo. In any case, we say, “nothing ventured, nothing gained”—and that is exactly what has happened to our friends at Zara. Yesterday, they were offering items for €1 in their online store.
Poor things—what a mess. Less than a month after their issue with the images, and here we are again.
The news published in El Mundo has already generated 70 comments, which is not bad at all.
IT errors happen even in the best of families. What we believe they should have done is, since it was a mistake and not misleading or malicious advertising, we understand that the orders would not be fulfilled, but a commercial gesture would have been appropriate—such as a discount or a voucher.
The question we ask ourselves is how a brand should act in a “crisis” of this kind, because any of us can have problems, but the important thing is how we resolve them… El Mundo commented… Is the cancellation legitimate, or should Zara send the items to those affected at that price and absorb the error?
There are associations that support consumers who are upset by this approach, and I believe that, beyond legality, it is always advisable to leave a good impression with those who have trusted you, isn’t it?
In any case, we insist: we encourage them to keep having experiences; as with everything, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
